Kenzie and I went to the park the other day to have the amazing & talented Liberty Fleming take some photo’s of us. Kenzie is full of energy these days, and isn’t into taking pictures. So let’s just say she was a very active subject for Liberty! How do your little ones do for pictures? Any suggestions?

Isn’t the outfit that Kenzie is wearing adorable? It is by Jumina!

Find something that she loves that requires sitting, like tea party, coloring, playing baby dolls something that will make her content for the photos…works for us! Kenzie looks stunning as always.

Thanks Amy that helps alot! I just usually bribe her with food or candy, and I don't want to get in the habit of doing that!

I think they love it or hate it unfortunately. I have one who loves it, two who don't mind, one hates it and the toddler changes her mind daily. (she's always enthusiastic if it involves marshmallows. I think not pushing it is super important as I don't want them to ever resent the fact that I take lots of photos and post them everywhere. It would also be a shame for them to get the point of total refusal.
If it's a big 'job', I always pay…just a small toy or treat.
For really still shots, I ask kids (over 4s) to count to 10 or 20 in their heads…it works better than I would have imagined!

Andrea, thanks for the advice! I will try the counting, that seems like such a great idea. And of course a small toy-I will definitively try!!

Thanks so much xo

When I am photographying children I try to let them be themselves, get all the things they want out of their system and then I get involved and join in with playing with them. Making them laugh and engaging with them is what works for me. Being silly is my number one tip. They will talk and laugh with you while you snap away for a few frames, then it's back to giving them my full attention for a bit before I shoot some more, and so on :)
